SARAH JAMES MOSS | Principal Designer & Proprietor

Sarah James Moss - Moss ManorSarah James Moss is an independent designer based in South Louisiana.

Moss’ creativity and business acumen are highly regarded by her clients, who entrust her with both the design and management of new construction and remodeling projects. Her extensive travels throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and North and South America have influenced her cosmopolitan approach, reflected in spaces that are decidedly chic and sophisticated.

Moss served as Lead Set Designer on four episodes of “Brothers Take New Orleans” on HGTV,  alongside Drew and Jonathan Scott of the “Property Brothers.” When asked about his experience working with Moss, Drew Scott said “Having a local designer on my team was not only a huge asset in bringing an organic New Orleans charm to my design, Sarah also shares the same high level of quality with every project she takes on.”

Moss has consistently been named “Best of Houzz” for Design and Customer Service, awards given to less than 3% of over 3,000,000 designers worldwide. Houzz is the leading platform for home remodeling and design, with more than 40 million monthly users. Moss is also a three-time consecutive winner and Gold medal recipient of the INDesign Awards, a regional competition that honors exemplary architecture and interior design projects. Her work is frequently featured in editorials and design publications.

Moss is the principal designer and proprietor of MOSS MANOR: A Design House, an online boutique that features hand-curated modern furnishings and home decor from her exclusive trade resources.

Moss holds a Masters in Business Administration and an Honors Baccalaureate in Marketing & Legal Studies from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she was twice summa cum laude and “Outstanding Graduate” of the B.I. Moody III College of Business. Moss also studied classic and modern architecture in France, and completed an independent study on the award-winning BeauSoleil Solar Home. She has extensive formal training and field experience in computer-aided design. In 2012, she was spotlighted by her college for her accomplishments as an alumna.

Moss presently volunteers on the founding committee for the Memorial Park of world-famous artist George Rodrigue. She is past Vice President of Development for the Board of Directors of Festival International de Louisiane, a francophone music and culture expo that attracts 400,000 visitors annually. She previously served as Development Director for the Acadiana Center for the Arts, a progressive regional facility where she gained proficiency in contemporary artwork. Moss is also a third-generation licensed Realtor, and has been named Best Dressed of Acadiana, Best Dressed of the Teche and New Iberia’s Star of Style.
