Color Me Wonderful: Kitchen Edition
Give your kitchen a facelift with colorful cabinets! Spring is in the air, and it is that time of year to bring more color into the home. According to Benjamin Moore’s 2015 Color Trend guide, greens ranging in color are sure to be the most popular paint colors this year. In one of our latest remodel projects serene colors, like the sage green shown here, set the tone for the new rustic modern interior. Low-‐volatile organic compound paints in soft shades of gray, white and green coordinate with dark wood grain ceramic tile floors of this interior.
In this kitchen, mismatched cabinetry was gutted and new shaker–style cabinets were installed, including a refrigerator enclosure, decorative hood vent, and large storage island with seating for two. Slab granite throughout is paired with a reproduction pressed-‐tin backsplash. New appliances include a gas cooktop, double wall oven, hood vent, kitchen sink and sink filler, dishwasher, and instant hot water tank. An added bonus is the hidden cabinet above the refrigerator, holds a flat screen TV. The adjacent breakfast room features new custom banquette seating around the restored original dining table.
